Welcome to our website!

The Pewaukee River Partnership officially began operating in September of 2004. Currently we have about 35 members who share a common desire to protect and preserve the Pewaukee River and its Watershed.
The first project undertaken by PRP was to work with the Village and the City of Pewaukee to have river signs erected at all street intersections.
The River Monitoring Project was started in 2005. Currently we test the river for six different indicators (temperature, turbidity, stream flow, dissolved oxygen, macroinvertebrates and habitat once a month from April through October.
In 2005/2006 PRP worked with Pewaukee Park & Rec and the Lake Pewaukee Sanitary District to build an 800 ft. boardwalk in Simmons Woods Park.
At our September Annual Meeting members voted to explore building a riverwalk at the back of the new Village Hall site.
We are incorporated and have obtained 501(c)3 non-profit status.

I visited the Pewaukee River Project today. I was there when an authorized person was talking on his cellphone about the lack of work done.
The construction is gorgeous. You should be commented on your efforts. I truly regret having taken some spawning female perch from the river. It is just beginning to recover.
At the base of the damn on the riverside, the perch are spawning. However, there is inadequate protection from both human and fish predators.
Could some watershed management people be asked about the strategic placements of boulders and trees to insure a bountiful future harvest.
Maybe a tree or two cut to fall into the southern swampy area for bass propagation.
Some extra boulders at the base of the new structure to protect the spawning yellow perch.

It looks like there has been no activity (at least on the web site)for the Pewaukee River Partnership Inc. for years. Looking at the officers and seeing that there are some non-environmentalists, I'm not surprised if this organization is indeed, dead. If so, was the closure of the river to rebuild the structure where the river stems from the lake a factor as well as the fact that some of its top members have no interest in Ecology?
